Waste and Disposable
October 8, 2005Ok, So the world is in this here handbag, going where you say? Lots of depressing info out there, have an example on me: http://gristmill.grist.org/story/2005/10/7/13832/2461 Well that is very sad and all,but what am I to do? Does a small example even help? If I take a reusable bag to the grocery store, will they think I am nuts? If just 100 people take a reusable bag to the grocery store, will they call it a movement? Well, that’s what it is, folks, the Anti Plastic Waste and Disposable Movement, and it is real and right here atcha. Do one small thing every day, and lets see if we can turn this car around.

October 2, 2005Maybe I am too uptight, but I get all bent out of shape when someone’s robot sends 100+ error messages to my logs in the space of a couple minutes. Perhaps not everyone has their errors e-mailed to them as soon as they happen, but I do like to keep on top of things. As a result, I banned my first IP today. Not a spammer, but a legitimate idea gone haywire. I also e-mailed the owner and told him what I had done, and offered to remove the ban if he proves he has learned how to behave in polite company. I feel much better now.

Hello all,
September 29, 2005It’s me, pattern!
This has got to be a cool thing, the implementation of WordPress multi-blog right here and now, ready for your daily thoughts and musings. The geeky ones among us without real lives are really just wondering how it all works and if it will scale, so I hope all you truly interesting types will put your stories online right here so we can all see the effects of traffic, love, and linkage on the not-so-little project thaat has been provided us. Meanwhile, in the spirit of releasing often, I personally hope to plan to contribute some sort of frequent noise to the system, just to test things you understand. What are we, after all, if we can’t be predictable. See you then.
